Larox Severe Duty Industrial Series
Design
The operating principle of Larox pumps is based
on "peristaltic effect". As a cylindrical rotor rolls along the hose, a
process medium gets pushed forward through the hose. At the same
time the hose behind the compression point reverts to its original round
shape creating a suction at the pump inlet port and the hose bore re-fills
with pumped medium. No backward flow can occur as the hose is squeezed
tight by the roller.
The elastomer hose forming a full circle
inside the casing is compressed only once
per pump revolution. The hose is the only part of the pump in contact with the
pumped medium, as well as the only wearing part. Because the pump is
seal-less it is not damaged even if runs dry for longer periods of time.
Due to the very smooth peristaltic operation principle, hose pumps are very
gentle and do not stir or shear the pumped medium.

Benefits
Hose is compressed only once per revolution.
As a result, the hose serves up to five times longer than in shoe design
pumps.
Larox pumps can run continuously at high speed without heating or damage
to hose or bearings, as compared with shoe design peristaltic pumps.
Rolling over the hose creates less friction, and therefore, only a
fraction of glycerine required by shoe design peristaltic pumps. Glycerine is not needed
for heat dissipation.
No U-turns are necessary. Larox inlet and outlet mounting are inline
similar to a usual pumping scheme.
Larox motor size is typically ½ the size of traditional shoe design
peristaltic pump
motors, saving thousands of dollars annually in energy consumption.
At low speeds Larox motor will not trip due to drag like shoe design
pumps.
Floor space requirements for Larox pumps are typically 1/3 that of
conventional shoe hose pumps. The annual operating cost savings compared
to shoe design peristaltic pumps is often as much as the cost of a new
pump.
Ideal for accurate dosing, metering and flow control as the pump
discharge flow does not depend on the pipeline pressure.
Reversible rotation.
No mixing or shearing of the medium.
Easy installation and maintenance.

Typical Applications
Larox peristaltic pumps have proven their
superiority in a wide range of industries and applications. Larox heavy
duty pumps are a perfect solution for dosing and industrial transfer of
various slurries with high solid content, abrasive, aggressive, corrosive,
viscous, and crystallizing media.
